Farm

College Farm

Riverside Christian College owns a 52-hectare farm which is located 5.2kms from our College Campus. The farm is fully equipped with infrastructure of machinery (tractors & implements for cultivation and hay production), hay sheds, fencing for rotational grazing, and state of the art cattle handling facilities. The property is watered by two dams, with a storage dam and bores all set up for irrigation.

The following subjects utilise the farm within their syllabus:

  • Agriculture
  • Horticulture
  • Outdoor Education

Projects

We are continually looking at ways to develop and build on current projects including, a Beef cattle breeding program for prime cattle competitions and Indigenous Gardens.

    Livestock

We house a range of animals at the farm including:

    • Cattle
    • Horses
    • Sheep
    • Chickens

    Crops

We predominantly grow and nurture small crops and fodder for cattle feed and hay production. The rich soil content and dams to assist in irrigation and maintenance of the crops makes the farm a viable piece of land for crop and livestock management.
