College Board

Riverside Christian College is governed by a Board of Directors from the Maryborough Christian Education Foundation Limited (MCEF) and is administered by the College Executive.

MCEF is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee and is incorporated under the Corporations Act.

The Board of Directors formulates the College direction, determines its priorities and vision and delegates the implementation of these priorities to the College Executive.

The College Executive consists of the College Principal, Director of Teaching & Learning, Director of Distance Education, Director of IT and Business Manager. It is responsible for implementing the Colleges Strategic Plan through planning and utilising resources.

The Senior Management team is appointed by the Principal and assumes responsibility for specific portfolios. The College Principal, Director of Distance Education, Director of Teaching & Learning, Director of IT, Heads of College (DS & DE), Head of Chaplaincy, Head of Inclusive Education and Student Services Team Leader make up the Senior Management team.

The Business Manager, Facilities Manager, Farm Manager, HR Manager, Marketing Manager, Operations Manager & RTO Manager form the Management team and work with the College Principal to oversee and action the strategic direction of the College.

Pastor Yuan Miller Dip Theological Studies, Cert IV Bus Management, Cert IV Marketing
Pastor Miller has served as Board Chair of MCEF LTD since 2018. He is a committee member of the Risk and Compliance and Building and Infrastructure Board sub committees.
Pastor Miller is a Director of Victory Church and has been Senior Pastoring for 6 years. He is currently the Senior Pastor at Victory Church, Brisbane. Pastor Miller also has 7 years sales management experience and 6 years marketing experience.

John Somerset M. Research, B. Comm, GAICD

Mr Somerset serves as a Director of the MCEF LTD Board and Chair of the Finance Board sub-committee.

Mr Somerset (and Somerset Education) is a broadly recognised market leader in Australia for the provision of advice, tools and benchmarking for the financial sustainability of independent schools.

He served as a director of another independent school for more than 10 years and also as director of Independent Schools Queensland.

Mr Somerset has practiced chartered accounting for over 30 years, with the past 25 years dedicated to the financial health of non-government schools. He is currently working towards a PhD in the area of financial sustainability for independent schools.

Rebekiah Frahm B. Acct

Mrs Frahm serves as a Director of the MCEF LTD Board, and Committee Member of the Finance Board sub-committee.

Kiah Frahm is a registered tax agent and a member of Institute of Public Accountants. She has worked in the tax and accounting industry in the Fraser Coast region for the last 20 years.

Kiah is the mother to 3 boys who attend Riverside Christian College.

Andrew Lind B. Com., LLB (Hons.), Grad. Dip. CS, Masters CS, GAICD

Mr Lind serves as a Director of Board of MCEF LTD, Chair of the Risk and Compliance Board sub-committee and Company Secretary.

Andrew is the co-founder and a consultant for Corney & Lind Lawyers. He was admitted as a Solicitor to the Supreme Court of Queensland and The High Court of Australia in 1990.

Andrew is a specialist Charity and Not-for-Profit Lawyer with over 35 years of experience especially in relation to schools. He has served on the Charity Law Committee of the Law Council of Australia and Not-for-profit committee of the Queensland Law Society (including the later as Chair). He has held numerous governance roles for schools and education providers (and other charities and churches) and advises many others in his capacity as lawyer.

Cathy Galvin M. Religious Education, B. Arts (Humanities), G. Dip. Education, G. Cert. Education, Cert IV TAE

Ms Galvin serves as a Director of MCEF LTD Board and incoming Chair of the proposed Education Board sub-committee.

Cathy brings almost 30 years’ experience in education, with 20 of those in the non-government sector and the last 15 in senior leadership roles. She is a strategic thinker and understands and respects the balance between educational, religious, financial and other goals. She is also a strong advocate for the importance of taking a future focused and global perspective in the education of our young people.

As former Principal of St John’s Fisher College, Bracken Ridge, Cathy was responsible for founding FisherONE, an online learning platform for senior students within Brisbane Catholic Education, in partnership with Brisbane Catholic Education.
